Effective: 02/10/2025
All graded work or performed competencies (letter grade or pass/fail) not completed by the due date, or missed due to absence, including being tardy or leaving early, will not be eligible for a grade. Students will receive a zero (0) for missed work or an “F” for missed competencies. Instructors may approve an extension if a significant, documentable, and infrequent situation caused a student to miss a submission deadline.
The following procedure must be followed for consideration:
- A student must have a significant life event (e.g., natural disaster, personal or immediate family emergency, extended illness/hospitalization, personal injury, extended jury duty, military commitment).
- A student must present a request in writing (email is acceptable) no later than 48 hours after the due date and before the course ends. *Note, discussion boards are not eligible for late submission.
- If the student does not submit a request in the prescribed timeframe, they will not be eligible to submit the missed assignment or assessment. The student will receive a grade of zero (0) for all missed assignments and assessments.
- The student will have three (3) calendar days, or until the last day of the term, whichever comes first, to submit the missing work.
